High capacity heat pump
The International Energy Agency estimated that, as of 2024, heat pumps installed in buildings have a combined capacity of more than 1 000 GW. They are used in climates with moderate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) needs and may also provide domestic hot water and tumble clothes drying functions. The purchase costs are supported in various countries by consumer rebates. WebThese are used in larger buildings for economical and emission free heating and cooling. Whereas heat pumps for use in private residential buildings and industry are already standard equipment in the heating sector, having largely replaced fossil fuels, the presence of high capacity heat pumps is yet to make its mark in practice.
